M. Theresa Turla, MD

Dr. M. Theresa Turla M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist with more than 12 years of experience. Dr. Turla’s special interest is in oculoplastic surgery to restore functionality of the outer eye and improve vision, increase moisture and ensure proper protection for the more delicate areas of the eye. Her surgical skill set includes upper and lower lid surgery, both functional and cosmetic, brow lifts, ectropion and entropion repair, ptosis repair, tarsorrhaphy, and gold weight placement. Dr. Turla’s examination and treatment of eye conditions include, tear duct abnormalities, glaucoma, cataracts, dry eye syndrome, allergies, and injuries. Dr. Turla earned her Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry from Cornell University, awarded her Doctorate of Medicine from the New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. and completed her residency with Tulane University School of Medicine in 1999. Dr. Turla is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She serves as a member of the Louisiana Eye Research Institute and the CLEVER Eye Institute to further ocular research for the future of eye care.
